just a warning to any other members who have a nochex account. someone has managed to hack in to their system and remove a large sum of money from my account. and they don't seem to want do anything about it !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm in the same boat as you mate ... my account has been "hacked" as well and money used to buy gold on the London Gold Exchange. I've had a few short, and useless, e-mail interactions with Nochex and the last message I got from them was that they are "taking this issue very seriously, so rest assured." Yeah, right. Anyway, I've already involved my bank and the police so I'm sure something will come of it. Keep me posted on the progress you make (e-mail me off forum) and I'll do the same.

Someone tried to get into my account but failed too! Bastards!!!

I've been making some subtle enquiries about this (maybe too subtle!) and don't hear of any other problems. Are there any links between you guys, like have you set-up accounts recently, changed passwords recently. Have you got full virus and firewall protection on your machines ? Reason I'm thinking this is that the NoChex system itself seems fairly secure to me, the only obvious vulnerability is when the password is entered and sent across the network. Now that should be encrypted (unless they have f*cked up big time), but if you had a trojan on your PC capturing keystrokes and passing them on to a fourth party ..... all their security is useless.

Oh yeah, and do you have sensible passwords - like 8 characters or more, mixture of upper and lower case, non dictionary words, includes numerics and not the same as other less secure systems ? (like this forum)

Many occasions have I received an email saying someone has tried to access my account and failed, but I cannot get in either.

 

I say fuck NOCHEX and cancel all business with em.
