i ain't a genius at this kinda stuff so i dunno if the modem i bought is naff or i need to do something? i have tried googling but just havent got anywhere.

basically, i have broadband with NTL. I have a motorolyy ta surfboard modem which they provided me with which is used on my PC downstairs. That works fine (most of the time lol)

if i take this upstairs to my room, it works fine on my laptop. coz i do have a NTL connection in my bedroom (as i have a cable box there) so I thought I would by one from ebay and use in my bedroom just so I can have internet on me lappy too..

But the problem is the NEW motorola modem (same) doesnt work up or downstairs but the old one works on both. so do u think its a fault with the new modem?? is there a way to fix this?

Yeah, i have considered wireless I got this pretty cheap on ebay and thought I would give it a shot. ANY ideas welcome
