Hi all, sorry I haven't been on for a little while, I have been looking in everyday in case I was needed - just been busy at work!

Anyway back to my question.

I have been offered a company car up to £25k and quite like the 1 series M-sport coupe 118D with leather or the 118D sport convertable without leather.

Has anyone had a 1 series, what do you think? are there better cars out there for that money?

I can anything from:

Audi, BMW, Lexus, Saab, Vauxhall or VW.

Price has to be on the road price including options.

What would you go for?

I had a BMW 118d and it was the nicest hatch I have ever been in, far nicer than Audi A3 I had. The front seating area feels everybit like a 3series. Does it have to be a brand new car or less than 2years old?

:hurl:

I drove one a few weeks ago. 120d. Does handle and drive quite well, but Jesus H Christ, what an ugly mother of a car. Dull interior and pathetic boot. For £25k...I sure as hell wouldn't be buying an overpriced hatchback. Sorry. :(

Not the hatch, the coupe or convertable - hatches are much cheaper.

So what else is there? What would you get from the brands listed?

Sorry, you only get from the manufacturers listed. Would have to be either an A4, 3 series....I'd actually have a low brow Lexus IS than a 1 series.

But you like Astras!

you dont get much from a A4, 3 series for £25k - would be a basic model with not much in it. Also for the miles I do - a diesel is on the cards. I still have to pay for my fuel!

At least the 1 series coupe or convertable would be top spec for that money!

Not at their prices I don't! LOL. I liked them in the 80s!

i was gonna say the same thing. thats interesting coming from a man who loves astras, i guess beauty really is in the eye of the beholder:D

anyways on subject i would go for the 1 series coupe, handles very well and drives very nicely but the back seats are a joke.

How about a VW Scirocco GT 2.0 TSI 210PSI, look pretty fookin good to me!

Steve's needs to be diesel unfortunately. I'm lucky in that I can go for petrol as I get a fuel card too. :)

Bugger, do they do a diesel one that's any good?

Buying a 3series or A4 for £25k would be pointless! You'd be lucky if it came with a steering wheel included.

You can get the S-line 2.0 TDi (120bhp) for 25k. S-line being their top end model.

They are just over the £25k -

I still think I am settling on the 1 series coupe M sport I want RWD.

I just need to sort out the color.

Alpine White with black leather or M-sport blue with red 'pimp my ride' leather.

Audi all the way for me, have an A4 V6 diesel at the moment but need to change soon. I was looking at Volvo, Alfa or Honda but just found out an A4 2.0TDi is only £10 more a month tax so Audi it is hopefully!!!

Just seen the new A3 cabriolet 1.6 tdi S-Line is well under £25k and only 13% bik tax. I also think it's a bit nicer than the BM to look at... anyone had one?
