Lotus are to return to Formula 1 for the first time since 1994 after being granted the 13th slot on the grid from next season.

 

They will line up as one of four new teams for 2010 - alongside Campos Grand Prix, Manor and US F1.

It'll be great to see one of the best F1 teams ever returning. Shame they can't have the JPS sponsors too though.

Who are Lotus owned by these days? Are they still owned by Kia or Isuzu?

 

Begs the question who will run the team, supply the engines and finance them.

Lotus are still owned by Proton of Malaysia I believe. That's presumably why they can afford to do it.

 

Wonder who's engine they'll use though?
