...after having the kit knocking about for 18 months or so :smash: I thought it's now time to get cracking!

I got the rears done in about 2 1/2 hours - I was surprised at how straight-forward the job was. i think the trickiest part was trying to get those damn plastic ties to thread back around the frame of the seat. after the tenth one i worked out that if i pushed one finger down one side, then tried to slide the tie from the other side up my nail then it did the job (i think the ties i bought were a little too small to work with, but patience payed off in the end)

i also have blue trim to replace all the tweed cards etc. but i think it may be too light (its like an electric blue) to go with the darkness of the blue in the seats. will have to put some of it up temporarily with blu-tac or double-sided tape and see what i think.

im loving the colour and am very pleased with the quality of the material, and what id achieved in an afternoon. passenger-side seat next (maybe this weekend) - this will definately be trickier but im ready for it. bring it on! woooooo!

ps. i took this photo before i screwed the top back in, so the two halves look a little off-cock

thanks mate - yeah theyre Vytex, nice soft material and look good. not dead cow but the difference doesnt bother me! its just a shame the tweed makes them look crap! i'll have to get a move on and get the cards and trim done too

You said it only took you 2.5 hrs for the rears? Are they effectively seat covers then, because I thought the full re-upholstery task could take days if not weeks!

they are covers that replace the old leather - for each half of the rear seat (top and bottom) takes about 10 mins to remove old cover, then the remainder to stretch/poke/pull/fiddle with/tie up the new one. the fronts i would image take longer, but if you were dedicated i bet you could do all seats in a couple of full days. (edited - those front seats are a bugger!) (edited again - when i say full days, but down 24 hours days :slap: )

All ready to be put back together

Brand new windscreen went on yesterday after a bloody crack appeared in one corner. Idiots put in a blue window instead of a bronze like I asked but it looks pretty good - gives me an excuse to tint the other windows slightly.

That driver's seat's got "i'm next" written all over it ;) Im hoping Jeff can come to the rescue with the missing passenger-side bits :)
