Garages/engine builders capable of building a high spec 300zx.

Hi,

I am after a list of Garages and engine builders who are capable of building a high spec 300zx.

I'm sure some may question why I am asking and what the score is with me and my car but i am not at libity to say at the moment. I will just say it is one big mess which needs action taking.

I really need to underline that this will be a very big spec 300zx and looking at running allot of power.

No dis-respect to any other garages but i need recomendation of garages/builders who are up to the job. Someone who would take on a project that has already been started and seeing it through to completion.

Ideally a garage with a full set of services, from building the engine to fitting and then mapping and running the car in. Also there are lots other bits that need doing as well as building the engine.

I have heard good things about Phil who used to work at C&S woods and understand he has done some big builds.

Any info and help would be greatfully recieved.

I am very very sad and disapointed that it has even come to a point that i have had to create this thread and think about other options. this whole experiance over the last year and so many months has turned my life upside down and got the better of me. has took allot out of me and cost me allot of money, stress and depression to say the least.

thanks as always :D

Hia mate...

I along with some others could recommend Phil. He has built a few of our cars. Mine will probably be a powerful or so we think. Problem is that he doesnt do the mapping side of it etc. Also the running in would be you driving it. However was very good for the money and a pretty striahgt up bloke... For me I think he gave a very good service all around.

Im down to my last oil change now then im going to be looking at getting the mapping done but dont know where to take it. When I took it to zedworld to check the set up etc Jeff thought the engine seemed very strong indeed. I would definately consider Phil bud!!!

I have all the rare bits you can't find :tongue:

There's a guy up in edinburgh thats got a Rogue Motorsport sponsored Mr2. Was running around 550rwhp when he handed my rear end to me at crail.

After speaking to him, the car was going back to Rogue to have the engine built to closer to 900bhp (cant remembered if thats wheel or flywheel) IIRC.

Having said that though, arent Rogue an MR2 / GT4 specialist?

They are mr2 mainly. They done my stand alone egine mangement on my supra(top job). They also took me out in a stripped mk3 supra running 550 at the wheels. They are not scared to take a engine job on, there were a few engines being made there when i went all designed to handle more than 600 hp. They have done many engine coversions too. Toyota is there fav make mind, but worth a call.

Jimmer....simples.

not that i doubt jimmer as i have never used him or know anyone who has used him but i think what jaffaz32 is saying he wants to go to someone who can guarantee the build, has experience of big horsepower builds and is willing to take the project on.

now jimmer might come one here now and say he has built half a dozen 600+ bhp zeds?? i dont know and if he does then hats of to him :) if he has not then i dont think its what jaffaz32 is looking for from what he's saying??

Mike

The build need to be strong which phil could do but the setup you would need someone else. Would be worth calling him though then you can make a decision based on that!!!

As Mike said above, it needs to go to a established garage where i will get some kind of warranty or come back if anything goes wrong as parts alone i have bills for thousands of pounds.

I have contact a few garages on your recomendations.

At the moment TDI sound a good option, I have done checks on the company and seem a very good company, they are very expensive however no more expensive than the current garage and i think i will get the service from them the car needs.

I will keep everyone posted.

Yesterday we sent out an email to the garage explaining that we are looking into moving the car on and still awaiting their reply.

We are going to arrange a visit with TDI so we can sit down with them and take a closer look at the garage and facilities and discuss about the situation and the car.

However before we do that, i am holding fire until the end of today possibly tomorrow to see what the garage replies who currently has my car.

TDI quoted getting the car up and running within 5 days and they are aware the engine is in bits waiting to be assembled.

I doubt 5 days is a completed job as there is a fair amount that needs doing however if they can get that far in 5 days then another 5 days may see the completion of my car.
