A friend and I are going to try and connect my HKS SLD (thanks Simon!) tomorrow evening. The instructions I had faxed to me from HKS UK are useful, but I want to be sure that I'm connecting the unit to the correct wire.

The Power and ground are OK and I'm fairly certain I need to cut the speed sensor wire and route this through the SLD. Is this correct? If so what colour is the speed sensor wire?

Thanks

Hi Dave,

Sorry I can't answer your question, but you might be able to help me.

I have a HKS EVC4 unit with japanese instructions. Could you tell me the phone number for HKS UK ? They might be able to get me some English instructions.

Thanks.

Since wire colors are not unique, you have to

trace it from the ECU connector anyway.

The HKS UK phone number is 01480 861997.

If the colours aren't unique, any idea which pin on the ECU connector is the speed sensor wire?

Speed signal is on pin no. 53.

I'll send you an email with the diagram.

Dave, SLD is Speed Limit Defencer. I sold mine to Mr Marley when I put the JWT (Jim Wolf Technology)in.
