Hi got a DIY cable and different software. can connect when ign on and see the data e.g. tps,battery voltage and fault codes etc etc but when i start the vehiclen they all freeze?? this happens on all the software? Any advise why this happens?

This can sometimes happen if using a USB converter. Not all converters are created equal and some have problems keeping up with the bi-directional flow of data. Sometimes updated drivers sort the problem, other times you're better off buying either a new cable or converter.

Its normal, but I dont see the problem ?

 

You should connect with engine running.

 

If for some reason you want to connect with engine off then you just press the connect button again when you start.

SORTED!! removed plug from ecu and refitted and now i can see my data while running but my laptop battery died lol. the data from the 10 secs i seen was very jumpy, battery voltage, throttle position etc was all very jumpy going to 0 then settle to correct position etc?
