Misfire until 2500rpm

Hi all, what could cause rough running/misfire up till 2500rpms? engine idles and revs with a misfire untill 2500rpm then after that is nice and smooth? does any controller turn off after 2500rpm?

    at a guess, coil pack? does the lamda light (emmissions light or whatever it is) come on when you floor it for a while?

    i had something similar, was a vacum leak i cant remember exactly something with the aiv solenoid it was as i had removed the aiv's
