Picked the Z up from Phil at Blackmoor a couple of days ago and he has done a truly superb job! I cant recommend him highly enough for knowledge of these cars and he is so easy to get hold of as well.

I have owned this Z now for 18 months and it felt really good to drive it rather than looking at it or working on it! I worked out i have been a Z owner now since 1999 and havent driven one for nearly 3 years because of problems with my old one prior to breaking it for spares.

The next steps i need to do are get the AEM fitted and mapped which will be done at Thor next month and it will also be going to Centre of Gravity while it is down there to check all the suspension setup and tweak accordingly!

I am waiting for a replacement 1 piece prop from concept Z which will hopefully arrive very soon due to this one being too short and causing a lot of vibration above 40mph, as well as a droning sound.

A new alarm is being fitted and i will need to start thinking about a stereo setup aswell. On Monday it is going back to the trim shop to get my dash recovered due to the guy using the wrong kind of glue the first time! I also need to get the bodyshop to give it a final polish prior to fitting all the new exterior trims.

Anyway i am really pleased to say i am now the owner of a MOT'd, taxed and insured road legal Z again!!!!!

What work did Phil do?

He rebuilt the whole car practically! I delivered it as a bare shell to him. He built the engine up and fitted it, fitted the new wiring loom, interior, headlights, exhaust, prop, suspension, traction control, boost controller etc etc. I delivered a whole lot of parts and he put them all together!

Yes mate, apparently he had a batch made that were too short. At first we thought it was for an automatic but that is not the case. I now have 2 of these props which he says he will have collected and as soon as he has a correct batch made he will send one over. Phil had to fit the original spacer on to this one to make it fit almost correctly but it really does vibrate above 40! I guess the spacer throws it out of balance.

Arr nice one mate, glad to see it finally up and running :)

Now you can see when taking yer Zed to a decent garage in the first place, the difference in workmanship and customer care :-) Bet you never thought those 2 things existed with your car eh lol

Hope it all pans out good for yer with the mapping too.

Cheers Smithy!

Exactly right and lessons have been learnt! Leaving the car for 4 days at Thor to let them do their stuff!

Yep, I have used Phil a few times now - He really is fantastic with these cars.

Honest and reliable, my car will go no where else for any significant jobs.

Pleased for you.:)
