Firstly, it aint on a Zed but on my daughters Ford Puma.

Car went through its mot in April, everything ok, no problems. Did around 80 miles in it after the mot and the wee car drives great.

The car has been parked up since April and when I went to it this morning, battery had very little life left in it, so jumped started it, no problems.

The 2 warning lights, one for the ABS and the other for the Traction Control, or limited slip really, are both staying on after the car is running ??

Cleaned up the ABS Sensors, and the exciter rings and chucked in a new set of pads as well, still the lights on.

Disconnected both battery terminals and left it for two hours to maybe reset the ECU, still no joy, dash lights still on.

Any other ideas ?? Do you need a reset tool to extinguish the lights ?

Road tested it and the ABS seems to be doing its job ok ?

All help greatfully appreciated.

Ford Puma, 2001, 1.6 Zetec, if it makes any difference ?

Cheers in advance troops !:)

sounds like a faulty sensor abs and traction control use the same sensors you will need to get it on to a diagnostic computer to check for fault and to reset warning lights.

Cheers guys,

Checked all the fuses and relays, tried an ohms test on all 4 sensors and cleaned and removed everything concerned.

Lights are still on.

Wonder if a good long drive would help ? Been sitting for nearly 5 month now !

could be abs systems registered a fault due to your battery problems and all you need is light resetting some systems will reset themselves after a long drive or after ignitin has been turned on so many times and the same fault hasnt been rgistered again but most need diagnostic equiment to turn them off.
