i just sold something on ebay but the buyer is in spain. when i first saw the item had been sold to a spanish buyer i thought 'here we go'!.. anyway i sent him an invoice with the new shipping cost and hey presto... he has sent the monies into my paypal account.

 

however :confused: its currently being held by paypal until; a: i receive positive feedback from the buyer, or b: 21 days pass without a claim or dispute being raised. i have manually logged into my paypal account to check the fundage and it all seems above board but im a little worried that the buyer could just claim hes not happy with it, raise a dispute and get his money back leaving me empty handed?

 

any1 had any experiences with this before? iv had people from overseas win items and not pay before but this 1 is new for me...

Had this happen to me a month ago, the buyer was in the UK however but all the same it annoyed me as the item was over £200, I took the risk and it all worked out ok and the money was released the moment he posted good feedback.

 

I did raise a complaint though based on the fact that as the seller I was put in real danger of loosing my money and the sold item, in normal paypal / ebay style I got an automatic e-mail saying as I had low sales on ebay it was normal practise RUBBISH been active member for 4 years with 100 % feedback and hundreds of sales.

 

I think you could pull out by saying the item has become lost / damaged before shipping.

i have this at the moment with a guy in england that i sold my wii to the guy has it but still waiting on the funds being released 230 pound but all they say is that i have to wait on feedback or 21 days the guy has the wii but still hasnt left feedback

f***ing ebay :mac1: when you post it mate choose the most secure method, even if it means spending more - so you have proof of posting. ive been burned enough times as a genuine seller on ebay - forced into using registered delivery every time just because of the tiny minority, and now for some categories you cant even claim postage costs off the buyer :slap:

No one hardly ever leaves feedback.

 

So i dont really bother to either anymore.

 

In that case you then have to wait 21 days to get your money, that is bad!!!

 

I recently had a good paypal dispute.

 

I ordered a product it never arrived, i contacted the seller who said they were more than happy to send a refund but paypal wouldnt let the transaction happened, i said but the seller is more than happy to issue a refund but paypal would not make it happen. After days of arguments with paypal they finally done it manually.

I think Ebay is OK personally, its some of the people that use for what may be termed dodgey practises. I ordered a so called HID conversion kit on American Ebay and it turned out to be just the bulbs plus wiring. I complained and received a telephone call from Paypal who after a brief discussion put the money back into my account (item cost and postage), the very next day. That to me is good service. I think Ebay are trying to rid themselves of the shabby image which has evolved over the initial years of trading and thus the new method of money transfer. If you were buying something on Ebay would you not want similar controls in place to ensure the goods you had paid for were up to scratch !

yes,. I've had this issue too. Its nothing to do with him being an International buyer.

 

They do that now for Sellers without a high feedback rating (the satisfaction survey part - which buyers optionally fill in when they leave you feedback) on certain high-risk items - Such as Car parts, electrical parts, Computer parts.

 

Its really annoying....typically your selling an item becuase you need the money now :rant:

we got ours settled the other day, money now in our account. think its just the worry that the guy said he had the product but i still couldnt get my money for it lol but i do think its a good thing just a pain having to wait as i needed the money asap
