Is this a high milage (non zed)

I've been offered a very good deal on my mate's company Vectra 1.9CDTI SRi estate (150bhp) The car is on an 06 plate and has a full dealer service history. It's in excellent condition, however it's done 108,000 miles. I know that the 150bhp 1.9cdti engine is probably the best diesel that vauxhall have, but is this a high mileage considering it's a diesel? I don't really know a thing about diesels :wack:

if it has a proven FSH it should be fine mechanically, how many miles are you planning to put on it, i'd rather have a high mileage FSH than a low mileage no history car every time, not sure on the specifics of the vectra engine but i know plenty of people with them at work who have had no problems at all.

I take it that is mostly motorway miles. IMHO some of the best buys are cars that have done loads of motorway miles in the first couple of years with FSH. Very little wear and tear on them really and highly maintained, however worth less due to the mileage aspect of it.

I'd say don't worry too much about the mileage mate :)

As above - if it's motorway miles I would not worry about it on a diesel.

I sold my surveyor's Volvo S40 2.0tdi earlier this year - an ex-employee bought it for his wife. The car was just over 2 years old but had covered almost 130k miles - it had also just had the original brakes and second set of tyres replaced. At almost 130k miles!!

It will also depend on how it's been driven - and with the high mileage it will also be a real bargain!

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

Am i right in saying that the vauxhall 1.9 diesel is the renault engine. If it is then they are good for high miles. My old man had a 52 plate laguna 1.9 with 217,000 on it,he sold to a mate and its still happy as larry now.

Nope, the engine is shared with Saab. It's a good engine anyway.

My Leon is 2 and a half years old and it's gonna hit 100k next month and there's absolutely nothing wrong with it. I've meticlously maintained it and if this Vectra has got a FSH, then the mileage should really be taken with a pinch of salt. Most of it is likely to have been motorway mileage anyway. Very little stress on the engine and other components.
