Yet again a quick forum search solves a problem.....

My car developed a really noisy 2nd gear, I assumed it was because of wear and mileage. Thought it would probably need a rebuild!

Bobs you uncle! The rubber gaitor under the leather had come loose so when in 2nd it lifted it up and let all the noise out! Can't believe how well these rubbers work.

I secured the top rubber to the lower rubber more securely with a large cable tie.

Job done, noise gone.:D

I know what you mean about thanks to forums..

 

on the hornet owners club guy come off his bike in scotland.. and he lives down south.. between the club on the forum they got his bike home (at no charge) and got someone from the forum to visist him every day in hospital...... thats why i love the forum spirit
