Gearbox bush

Has anyone ever taken their manual gaearbox apart and found a bush that isn't there. Cos last year I took my gearbox apart and found a bush just behind the rear oil seal. I removed it because it was completely worn to peices and then found that it was not on any diagrams anywhere. Nissan dealer told me that a new case was necessary so I bought a second hand one.

Anyone come across this before?
