Punto headgaskets are a wheeze to do mate.Done a couple now.Dont keep the car too long after as it may go again. They dont last very long as the cooling on them isnt to clever.

dont think she is that keen on it now after it anyway, bought it as it had a few cosmetic things that needed putting right so might get all that done and see if she is wanting to get rid of it

Make sure you replace the thermostat while your at it. One main factor of the over heating on these engines.

done it!!!! me and her dad stripped it and replaced the head gasket today just over 4 hours mostly cause we questioned every single part we were doing lol but its done and running perfect again

My Mother-in-Law had a Punto, head gasket went, so she paid to get it fixed, went again a month after.

My missus has had her Punto's gasket go twice now. The last time it went I binned the thermostat and it's done another 50,000 miles since! She moans about the cold in winter though lol!
