Been thinking of selling both cars for sometime now and having just one. Have to options in mind both totally different. C-Class Couple 220CDI about a 2005 or a Chrysler 300C 3.0CRD 2007 (57). now my mrs like the coupe because its a 2 door but for 3k less i can have more with the 300c, a hell of a lot more. As i work for mb,chrysler and smart i get them at cost price and really finding it hard to turn down this vehicle. but just want peoples options first lol so here it goes.

 

and heres the spec list anti-lock brakes, climate control, alarm, power-assisted steering, driver, passenger and side air bags, 18in alloy wheels, cruise control, 5 speed automatic gearbox, electronic stability programme, rear parking aid, driver/passenger heated seats, memory driver electric seats, electric/heated door mirrors, immobiliser, front fog lights, driver/passenger seat lumbar support, front/rear armrest, front/rear electric windows, remote central door locking, front/rear head restraints, reach adjustable steering column/wheel, driver information system, body coloured bumpers, six speakers, centre rear seat belt and spare wheel. Satellite navigation, Sunroof, STARTECH Chrome Grille & Sunscreen Glass also fitted.

I wouldnt touch the Merc. I had an E220CDi. It was a 2003. Worst car and most problematic family car ever. Injectors in the engine kept giving up and had to replace cats. Cost an absolute fortune over my term of ownership which was just shy of a year and a half. They may have improved after 2003 - I don't know, but I wouldn't spend my money finding out.

 

If it was a choice between both, I'd go for the chrysler.

The Chrysler - isn't that just a bargain basement version of the (old) E-class?

 

Actually the Chrysler has grown on me over the last year or so - and with its astonomic depreciation, used versions are very good value. Plus the unenlightened amoung our great population have sometimes been known to mistake the Chrysler 300 for a Bentley.....:o

 

It's a lot of car for the money but I must admit to being a bit of a Merc fan in recent years. I am now on my second SLK (a 2006 fully loaded 350) and I love it to bits; superb build quality, looks and presence. And it's never gone wrong (yet.....)

 

So if it were me, I'd probably go for the (not so good value) Merc:x:

There is a young 20yr old lad driving round worthing with the number plate saying b....y with the sound system to boot ,in the chrysler , but apart from that putting me off , its a lovely drive and very reliable car ,but the depreciation is something to consider it would go down in value a lot more than the merc ,

Think you'd get bored of that extremely quickly.

i was at the car sales once when these were only 2 years old, looked great till you got close, but the chrome gril was corroded, plastic trim was lifting and parts of the dash were coming off

 

i was really disapointed, it only had 23000 miles on it

Mercedes might not be what they once were, but they still have an image that is sky high, no matter what the age.

 

Take my E280. 9 years old, 166,000 miles (and increasing) and most importantly, still brings a smile to my face. As a bonus, people still make complimentary comments and love going for a ride in the 'limousine'...great!

 

Thank god Mercedes divorced Chrysler. Never understood what he saw in her!
