yep, is the oldest thread (thread 2 is empty, and thread 1 has an error). as for the internets, thats been around for ages yes, but mainly only for the military and universities. :)

How long have linglongs been around for? id guess yours were built in 1930.

 

these were mainly for military use and wheel barrows in the 1st world war.......

yep internet was invented for universities to share information and was developed in the UK

 

why is is we invent everything and then lose it? you name pretty much any sport and we invent it and then everyone becomes better than us LOL

The Creation of the 'www' standard was an English man in 1989, but the internet was much older, dating first back to Russian satellites in the 50's and then the U.S Government and Universities with ARPANET (which became the Internet) from the 1960's through to the 1980's.
