Hi

What options have i got to update my rear std lights, without shelling out £300 for a set of brand new ones.

If seen a few posts but nothing definite on how to do it, what to use or a kit to buy?

thx all

Ric

you need clear diffusers to replace the amber one's lisa on here sells them there is also a thread on the site somewhere with detail on what to do , you have to heat the light up, and prise it open to replace

Thanks Chris, i take it this is the mod that some people moan about for removing the lenses in the oven

Rich

ps do you know lisa's handle

Hi Rich, thats the ones, you could also use a hairdryer and prise the sticky crap off bit by bit, being careful not to crack the lense.

Lisaf can supply the clear diffuser.

Cheers

Graham

Thats the one !!!

There are other methods also a heat gun a darn good hairdryer etc , some have found it easy and they do improve the car allot and as you say!, and much cheaper than going proper 99' , but they will not look identical

as i always tell the good with the bad though, i have also seen some pics where it has gone ermm.....well wrong sealant all over the place cracked lenses, or melted lights

it's up to you mate , just read up on it first a bit and if you're concerned about doing it to you're only set

someone should have a set avail cheap you can work on maybe ?

Good idea chris, get a naff set to practice on.

I've seen a kit for $40 somewhere and some replacement units in the usa which work out at £120,

here's the £120 set

Here's the kit

What do you think?

Ric

I'll be honest the set of lights i'm not keen on , but as regards price if you like em then it's cheaper than a set of 99 spec !

would not bother with the kit though, get clear lense's through here and buy you're own tape and you're away lol !!

or save and get the 99's (i've decided on this)
