I would love some buckets for my Z but would really like some recliners. the ones i want are allot of money purely because they are recliner buckets.

I'm just under the impression a fixed bucket seat is not adjustable and would be uncomfortable.

How much truth is there in this?

How do you find your bucket seats? are they uncomfortable?

How do you find the fixed position?

I will fit in them no problem but a bit of a short ass so without being able to adjust the height is that a issue?

if you have a zed with seats in the back you will need ones that recline and incline so people can get in the back so i dont know if fixed ones would be anygood??

I really dont think i can get anyone in the back anyway.

The car has been lowered and sitting on wide tyres which will no doubt rub with anyone in the back.

Getting people in the back is least of my worries. Just wondering about comfort.

lol, fair enough, comfort wise i used to have buckets in my last car, when driving round town etc in an upright fixed position its not bad however on a long normal drive , you need to be reclined a little otherwise its uncomfortable, i used to get a bit of an achey back, ... but i suppose its down to how ur own body would react to sitting in an upright position on a constant long journey... im 23, so the achy back wasnt because of old age :D

haha, yeah im 25 so not much older.

mm... Well it is more of a weekend car but i go to shows and abroad on occasions which will mount into a fair few long drives. Something i need to put some thought into before just doing.

If i was going to do fixed seats they would be loads lighter, without access to the rears they might as well come out and if im stripping it down there is no point for all the plastic trims else where and in the boot.

Would make one hell of a good weight saver.

I really like my fixed ones, Legarth has the same ones too.

Drove to Berlin in mine and felt ok when I got there! Also don multiple trips to France, Belguim and the 'ring ;)

thats true, but do you think it makes much difference being a zed lol, they are rapid as they are, may aswell keep the features of comfy semi buckets leather electric seats etc, one of the best things with the bucket seats is you get the harness and you can litterally not move, makes it easier to driver at high speeds round corners etc :)

im sure it will look mint no matter which idea you go with, end of the day its personal preference, i want some buckets in mine but dont wanna lose the electric goodies etc.

cool, think i might bite the bullet and go for it then.

Thanks...

 put up some pics once its done :D

Fixed back bucket seats can be very comfortable, but its all about getting the right seats for you. Test as many as you can before purchasing, as each seat suits different people. Some have built in cushion adjustment also.

When you fit them, they tend to be side mounted, and you have various holes for fitment so you can have them at the angle you prefer. I have mine reclined back. No reason for them to be upright. You can also get adjustable subframes that allow you to adjust the height and angle as well.

Most are available in standard and Wider width versions.

Also spend as much as you can, the cheaper the seat the less comfortable and supportive it is likely to be. You can feel a quality difference between the price ranges.

A Bucket seat is a lot safer than a reclining seat. Only Bucket seats are FIA approved for Racing whereeas recliners are meant for the road only.
