Thought it would be a good idea to create a wheel&tyre setup thread for peeps to post up their wheel size and tyre size front&rear and include offset (if you know it). This comes in very handy when searching for which tyre size to fit to which size wheel and offset etc. Also helps with the purchase of new wheels so you have an idea of what it might look like. Please feel free to add pics :D

If your new at this and have no idea what im talking bout then heres something to help you lol, tyre size can be found on the wall of the tyre in this format: 245/35/18x8.5-------

245 is width

35 is the profile which is the percentage of the width

18x8.5 is the wheel size in inchs by the wheel width in inchs. so this wheel is 18 inchs tall by 8.5 inches wide.

et20 is how far the wheels sticks out from the hub face the lower the number the further it sticks out.

Il Start

front

235/40/18x9.5 et20 plus 2mm spacer so realistically et18 arch rolled

rear

255/40/18x9.5 et20 arch rolled

Probably best to mention if arch rolling or any other mods required for wheels fitment to clear, in case others base their fitments on what is posted here without realising. Maybe say by how much car is lowered by and include pics that shows stance.

nice to see 17 peeps have viewed this thread without posting sizes? Is it coz you dont know or have standard wheels on? or your not bothered? or maybe its just 17 mods keeping an eye on me? lol

All other forums i have visited always have a wheel fitment thread as standard. shame.

Ok, my turn. I started the whole 'stance' thing off on here as I am a stickler for decent fitment/stance! LOL. Whilst mine aren't as extreme as yours (although my tyres are wider), they are almost the max at which stock unrolled arches will allow with those tyre sizes too. Mine is also running on Tein S-tech which are about 20 - 30mm lower than stock ride height.

My fronts are 8.5" wide. With an effective offset of +20. 245 40 18 tyres

My rears are 9.5" wide. Offset is running at a +35. 275 35 18 tyres

Thanks Si looks good, nice flat tyre side walls and almost perfectly flush.

Yup, it was what I was aiming for. Since I wasn't rolling my arches, I had to go flat tyre walls over mild stretch. Stretch looks good on very low cars with aggressive offsets (tucked). My springs have settled a bit, so might get the camber re-checked again soon.

Im thinking of coming out even more on the front and rear.

So anyone else?

car mad whats your setup?

ant? yours has a very nice stance what you got?

radius r6 alloys, 235,40,18s all round no modifications, sorry have'nt checked the offset

245,40,18s i have also used with no problem a little tight at the front spring bottom platform though.

cheers matey they are radius R6 alloy wheels had them a while now, really pleased with them

Really need to know more Dave/FASTEREDZED for it to be worthwhile as you've left out the 2 most crucial bits of information. ;) Wheel width and offset.

front

235/40/18x9 et35

rear

295/35/18x10 et22

but... this is the outcome...

mine looks like that when you jack it up but then as you lower it, it tucks in.

That should fit with a tiny bit of lowering and maybe a touch of -camber.

Oh dear oh dear...

Mine as Tenso 18's. Not sure on the width of the rim itself.

Front:

245/40/18 - unknown offset

Rear:

275/35/18 - et35 i believe.

Car is lowered by an unknown amount. Standard arches and I get a tiny bit of rubbing on the rear through severe dips in the road.

Will make a note of what they are when I get the wheels off next.

Really hope so.

dont want to sacrifice any grip or handling with too much camber.

Going to get the arches flared and rolled to hide the wheels a bit. the car is sitting pretty low on coilovers. that pic may of been when it was on the car lift. not sure as i didnt take it.

negative camber improves corner grip as more of the tyres surface meets the road. It can reduce braking grip in a striaght line tho but not by alot, thats why you see most race cars with lots of negative camber.

Cool sounds the thing to do then.

Gives it the JDM look aswell i guess.

Braking on the rear brakes dont really matter that much as i have 8 pots sitting up front.

woops forgot to say, what is involved to get -camber?

do i need some special magic adjustable camber bars or anything or can it be done on stock?

8.5" all round with 15mm spacers all round.

Original offset ET38, with spacers effectively ET23, in terms of stance, rims are just about flush with the arches, absolutely no rubbing, but car not lowered.

yeah you need adjustable camber arms but depending on how low you want to go -camber will increase as you go down so you might not need them although it may be too much.

Not meaning to hi jack guys but changed my tyres aspect ratio from a 30 series to 35.running 285 tyres and they rub on the edge.My cars on regamaster 18 rims.will check the offset and get it on here.Trying to get my arches rolled saturday to sort it.The tyres fill the arches really nice now and the stance is good.
