what's exactly happening , will it start? , can you turn the key ? and remove it ?

where does the sound seem to be coming from ?

no it wont start at all, i can put key in and turn it but nothing happens, the sound is as if its coming from the stearing area but its hard to know exactly where. its been raining all day and maybe my actual alarm has been going off and flattened the batterry as alarm is really sensitive, is this a possibilty, if it is why would i have an alarm sound coming from inside the car??

does your car have an alarm on it? can you override it with a key or something? is the battrey going dead causing a volt drop when u try to start it setting the alarm off?

my car has an alarm but i cannot even disarm it, i had to unlock the doors with the key, which makes me think again flat battery maybe, but still dont understand the loud alarm noise inside the car, its a siren type from round the stearing section

jump leads mate :)

ive got a friend coming to try it , so i hope it works, i phoned my alarm company they said there is no alarm inside the car so it sound to him like a flat battery and the noise could be a relay or something setting of something in the car, hope the jump leads work will let you all know how it goes once hes here.

It's not the "I've left my lights on alarm" is it? which of course would've resulted in a flat battery....

Good luck with it

well guys i started my car up was fine till bout 100 yards away from my work i could hear the fan belt making a loud screeching, the car then died as i was pulling into a pub car park which is where it is now, does this make sence as to why the battery wouldnt start, is it due to the altenator being connected or something? either way i was told the cambelt has snapped by a guy who was a mechanic he looked at it. i know am shit scared as my machine is parked in a pub car park near a trampy estate, also how easy is a fan belt change??

well the alternator has worked till now hasn't it more likely the cars got wet. you got some dodgy connections.... and your battery died/maybee your alternator

and if the cambelt snapped then you would not have even started the car at all let alone travel 100 yards....

Yeah snapped cam belt, not charging the battery, your mates jump has got you enough power to get a 100 yards, either slap a new belt on, or doctor something up to get you home (The old legend about a pair of tights actually works).

Make sure you run back with everything switched off (lights mainly if you get away before dark)

Been so close to home it may be better to tow it as recovery is going to be expensive as its after hours (£80 ish) or as Tango said get another battery but be aware if the fan belts is snapped then the water pump has no drive so be careful

I would tow it, get a mate with a rope.

Good luck
