cars been running like crap for ages cleaned all the connections as said all over the forum, but last week was driving through town and the car just died at the light and wouldnt start for about 5 mins, just read that ptu failure can make the car die when too hot and start when cooled down? will buying a series 2 ptu make a difference? or does it sound like something else cheers daimen

Yes thats the PTU mine did the same last month. I just changed mine for another.

 

But series 2 will never ever go wrong but they are around the £200 mark :(

how much can i get a series one for? i dont mind as long as it stops it running like s**t, thing is tho the car is only running crap when cold :(

get one from ebay usa about £40-£50 pound,just the same .

Series 2 are known for being MUCH more reliable than Series 1

as i sayd you can get a good almost new series 2 from america....

will have a look see what i can find:) would buy a new one but skint at the mo
