Today started early at 6am, due to me being on call this week. to a call from a tennant that her hot water cylinder was leaking.

half hour later im there, start draining down the system as i need to replace the cylinder. Get the new one and some parts.

9am take it out and put in front garden to empty it. Have a quick coffee and a ciggie, go into house at 9.15. get to top of the stairs and realise i need some bits off the old cylinder, back downstairs and .....................

Some fooker has nicked my cylinder, its not worth much as scrap maybe £20 if lucky. But this is a plumbers perk.

It was out of my sight for no more than a minute.

I hope its a smackhead druggie who nicked it, that he goes and gets a hit for his £20, then overdoses on it, or whoever took it, fell over and face planted the copper cylinder and tore an artery.....

This was in broad daylight, it was about 10ft from the open front door, and i was at the top of the stairs.

Didnt hear or see a dam thing.

FFS do you have to nail everything down to proctect your stuff.

Rant still on going.

im re wiring council flats in edinburgh and there is a few guys from the housing scheme go round collecting our off cuts of cable, it mast take them about 2 weeks to get a tenner out of it and they have to spend hours stripping it id do it with big cables but not with the stuff we are using its a waste of time. i once stripped it in the workshop as an apprentice for 2 month solid when we were quiet and i think we got 300 for it paid for our night out but what a pain

I use to work for EMR (scrap) and there is alot more money involved than you think. Those off cuts soon mount up.

i was changing a bathroom for a customer once and i removed the washbasin, took it outside for a bit more room to remove the taps as they wanted the old taps putting back in, went upstairs to get me tap wrench (was gone less than a minute), came down to fined the washbasin smashed and the taps gone

cost us a set of new taps the b4stards lol

was gone less than a minute and never heard a thing, was at the top of a long drive aswell, still say it was the pikey neighbour

stu, i was working down the south coast today, and came across a copper tank in the front garden just like you said,so i nicked it if you want you can have it for £30.:D
