Driving in the rain, turned a corner in second, put my foot down and whoosh! The car slid 90 degrees before I had to wrench it straight again! Scary to say the least and I think the car behind me was absolutely terrified.

The car's a NA, I've been moaning about lack of power and the tyres have lots of tread. Is this normal? Does the car have any form of anti-skid/spin?

My rear shocks are due to be changed shortly as they are finished; would they 'help' the car to spin/slide?

The only reason I ask is that I have driven more powerful cars in the past of a similar configuration (RWD, Manual, over 230bhp) and never had it slide so easily, even in the rain.

It was fun though, if a little scary! I have to say that I tootled home after that...

the zed is notoriously tail happy due to all the weight being towards the front of the car.

Thought that the zed had a 51% front 49% rear weight distribution?

forgot a word!

Knackered old rear shocks will make things worse.

Tyre make and model is critical though. Some of the tyres these things come over with from Japan are dangerous and not even legal on UK roads.

where did i say otherwise ;) ?

53:47 for the LWB

55:45 for the SWB

Its no different to most RWD cars in that respect, in fact its wider stance than most cars aids rear stability.

no lsd on the NA either (IIRC??) so that wont be helping things. The m3's LSD is a godsend in this snotty weather! Even with Michelin Pilots on!

I thought the diffs were the same throughout the cars....

nope R200v on an NA and R230v on a TT but after a quick look I think they are both limited slip.. doh! Back to my corner of german exile!

Both NA and TT are LSD Diffs for all years.

Cool, cheers! It felt like it was (on my na) but I guess you never know!
