Weird problem

I have found that after driving through a heavy rain storm, the car gets a really bad vibration / jolt through the steering wheel (and can be felt through the seat), as though I am driving over cats eyes. This happens at about 60mph and gets progressively worse to the point it is hard to steer.

 

If I stop and leave the car for a minute or so it goes away!

 

The only thing I can put it down to is water getting into something and draining away when I stop but as the ground is usually wet I cannot spot it.

 

Anyone had this or have any ideas where to look ?
