Tacho not reading right??

Hi people, don't know if anyone may be able to help on this one but i'm having some strange problems with a JDM TT i bought last week.

The tacho "jumps" sometimes say from 2,000 to 3,000rpm, but what's more worrying is i hit the limit yesterday while tacho showed 3000rpm?!

 

it does also tickover high sometimes, especially when you use the heater?

 

Anyways any input or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

    Also don't know if it makes any difference but its had a manual conv., flashed eprom and boost turned up to 14psi all done at zedworld

    I am no expert mate, but i do know that the speedo's can suffer from dry joints, maybe that could be your problem.
