OK.......

If you have bov's fitted (dump valves) and the spring rating is too high for the boost pressure to vent the valves (in the bov's), would this be bad for the tubs/engine etc.

to my non-mechanical mind i'd say yes, the boost would have nowhere to go but backwards. nowhere to recirc to either, so compressor surge.

If the bov's are not dumping the boost when you take your foot of the throttle then depending how much boost your running could pop the intercooler.

The back pressure would try and stop the turbo's from spinning.
