Hi All, trying to fit a Momo wheel, the boss has the copper looking ring around the bottom to connect (rub) to the car, but there is some plastic device on my car that will not "rub" on the Momo boss.

What is the way to get the horn connections to work? Do I have to buy another part or moidify the original? Thanks

If I remember correctly, you have to modify the set up...been a while since I fitted a Momo to the Z but I´m sure I had to add a wire for the horn to work.

OK, thanks. I dont want to attack the original setup only to find it doesnt work, if you know what I mean?

Does anyone else know for sure?

Hi Mark

I have a momo wheel with a momo boss, it has a metal plate on the boss which makes contact with the existing metal plate on the steering column, which enables the horn to work with no modification. I would say you may have the wrong boss.

Eg: i have a boss with cruise buttons that go in the horn position, but will not work in my na, its designed apparently for the tt. It has a plug and no plate.

HTH

Cheers

Graham

Agreed, sounds to me like you have a NA boss. The plastic bit on your car would be the Hicas ring.

Thanks Groover, my TT has a plastic enclosed thingy which is screwed to the shroud around the columb with no provision for making contact with the boss, (the boss does have a brass/copper ring on it but the car has nothing for it to touch). Just a single connector on a wire which plugs into the original wheel.

I no longer have Hicas so dont need that part on the boss. More confused now, lol

Legrath, sorry missed your post. So, even though I dont have Hicas do I need a Hicas boss?

Sounds like I do?

I was in same prediciment...had NA boss, trying to fit to a TT with Hicas removed.

If I remember correctly, with mine I think I ended up replacing the Steering hub (the original part on the steering column) with an NA version, so I could use the NA Boss.

..but I cant remember for definate, I know I was messing about with it for ages, looking for a solution, but ti was so long ago now.

sorry, not much help.
