Urgent help required!!

Hi guys,

After turning my house upside down I've come to the conclusion that I may have lost my folder containing all info on my car (log book, previous MOT's, servicing, parts, everything :( ) The most annoying thing is that I'm currently prepping the car to sell! Obviously i can get a new log book and ive rung the last garage i used which can supply me all recent work they've done (MOT, tyres and a few other bits). Now im pretty desparate to sell as my job requires me to travel much further than i used to hence its becoming quite expensive.

I bought the car off RussT an old uni mate of mine, a member on here and well known over on zclub.net, roughly a year ago. The car was owned by a guy called Scrawni another member on here before Russ so I'm hoping they can vouch for previous works (its got a full energy suspension bush kit, afew other goodies, and i DID have evidence of the cambelt replacement roughly 20k ago (with photos ffs - all in my folder ARRGGGHH!!!). There is a sticker on the cam cover to prove this partially.

I'm really upset about this guys and was after any advice in terms of what i can expect to price my car at considering it may have no evidence of history. Now it obviously looks dodgy to most and i honestly cannot blame anyone but myself for thinking that. I'm just after advice on how much to knock off my car? I'd priced it at around £3k with all the history but seeing as it may no longer have any (i will keep looking) i was wondering what i do with my price?

Any advice would be great guys, I just hope it turns up!!

Cheers,

Adam

Hopefully it'll turn up! It hasn't got mixed up with Rich's stuff/car bits?

I can vouch for the car, it's the silver series III manual LWB that I bought from Scrawni, the car was often known as Audrey :)

Certainly the car has always been serviced properly and it was my daily before it was Adams so it's not one of the 300s that is sat around for weeks and then doesn't run properly for a few hours. No weird smoke from the turbos or anything.

If you search through my posts here you'll see some of what I was up to. Before I sold it to Ad I replaced all the external trim with a full kit from ConceptZ. I spent ages fiddling about and replacing parts for NOS, lots of trim bits to bring it up to scratch. As Ad said there is a sticker to show when the cambelt was done by Z World I think.

Not so much history related but we put it on my conzult on the weekend and that showed it was still happy :D And the 300zx rear light panel still works as well :)

Hopefully it'll turn up mate!

Not sure how to PM on this forum mate - is it ok to call you?

Sounds like Jeff may be able to help :)

I cant see it being a big problem tbh. Service history is not a big selling point with cars like these, buyers far more interested in Spec/mods and condition, and these are all easy to see by the buyer.

The 60k Cambelt being the only important one buyers look for. These are enthusiast cars, which means many owners do the work themselves on them and have little to no service history anyway, plus with the vast majority being Imports they usually come into the country without history anyway.

Thanks Legrath mate, Ive already spoken to Jeff - he's posting me copies of the work zworld carried out (cambelt, tensioner, alternator belt etc etc). I'm not giving up hope just yet though :o . I'm also getting a copy of the latest MOT and relevant work that was carried out so thats two things.... I'm such a forgetful fool sometimes! Expect a "for sale" post soon.....
