I`ve just found out why it cracked!!! There are 4 small screws that are hidden ,covered with a plastic blob, they are located at the 2 top corners and one above the start of the X and 1 at the middle of the 3, all along the top of the panel, hope that makes sense? if you look carefully you can see them, they will pull out with pliars before using the hairdryer.

just took my to bits and you do need to pick away/remove the plastic gunk, i just used a small screwdriver, that is around the four screws or heads which enables you to get some purchase on them with small pliers and they will turn.

prising it apart after is not easy but get it warm and do bits at a time, it will slowly run along and become easier.

a little tip, prise the bottom part away first as the last bit on the top you want to keep tidy as is more visible in situ than the bottom, the top just eased out for me once i got a corner starting to come away.

dudeeeeeee, check the date on this!

Might be an old post but when people search back there is usually help/advice that is current to their particular problem at the time.

It saves posting threads again and again on the same problems.

I have just added to what there was there, in this case from daz, in an effort to aid somebody through what as been puzzling me for a day or so.
