thanks mate, which are the main bits to re solder, for the hicas to work correctley. Ie the speed sensor cable.

Thanks

You resolder the dry joints on the pcb circuit board on the back of the speedo clock itself and not the tracking on the film. You will need to take the front dash cover off, remove 3 screws that hold the speedo and the 3 screws that hold the boost guage then draw the clock towards you from the front of the dash to remove. HTH

cheers

Cannot get the black face from the white part of the clocks. is there a curtain way of doing this thanks.

There are lugs at the top and the bottom of the dash, use a small flat screwdriver and ease the top ones out first, one side at a time and the bottom will just slide out once undone

Thanks, just got the clocks out as i missed the to earthing srews on the clocks, the solder looks ok but im going to re solder all tomorrow. I hope this is it, speed sensor gear box looks fine i hope it is a bit of solder on this bloody speedo. Is there a particular part / place where the fault usally occurs.

Look for dull tracks, its worth retinning most of what you can see. Try not to apply too much heat in one area for too long and avoid running over solder into another part of the track. From the screw holes into the clock is where the power and signal etc go through.

Re soldered the ones that looked like they needed it. Took the car car out for a run and all seems ok so far. Power light comes one once instead of flashing 15 times, brakes feel better? and of course steering is ok. Going to give it a better run tomorrow.

Like to thank Darren, Groover and Jeff tt for the help. Job is not to bad to do so any one else with trouble give it a go.
