i have been speaking to a friend whos looking to buy a new tv. i said to get the new panasonic but another friend has said to him plasmas are finished and he should get a led tv is this right cause i was about to upgrade too and was thinking of the V10/G10 but i dont rate led technology IMO they dont last look at all new cars that have leds gone in there lights what happens if these go in your tv

He's probably thinking of OLED TV's but you won't get an affordable one yet.

TBH, LCD TV's are good enough now and more reliable than plasmas.

Just get one with good contrast ratios etc.

The problem with Plasma's is they only have a limited lifespan and don't like being moved, LCD's are a better bet as the quality is better but you still pay more for a larger screen than a plasma.

dont believe everything you read!! the latest plasmas ie in the last 3 or 4 years dont get screen burn and will last just as well as any lcd

yes lcd's have caught up to plasmas in terms of quality but in the larger screens i still prefer the colours and blacks of a plasma, iv yet to see a well setup lcd which is better than my 1080p plasma!!

the new led technology looks promising but i would leave it a year or so until its proven

oh and ive move a few plasmas and never had any issues, my last plasma went to andyp on here who laid it down in his car and drive 200 miles with it and i still think he uses it as his main tv LOL
