Right then we all know the recent events regarding bought items not getting sent out for what ever reason by one of our members after receiving payment, and as acting TLO its one of my pet hates...Clownpants has asked me if his selling thread can be re-opened and ime putting this to a poll so YOU the members can decide if he is to be trusted to re-sell..kinda like letting the members have a democratic vote on an important policy matter. Please keep this thread sensible and adult like as your deciding iff another member can start selling again...

should clownpants be allowed to sell items again on this forum..

yes or no

should clownpants be allowed to start selling again 35 members have voted

  1. 1. should clownpants be allowed to start selling again

If all party's have had there parts, then yes, but just to show some good will what if he sends the parts first and when the customer is happy they send the money just until people trust him again.

No, Following on Dave's Zed post in the "FAO CLOWNPANTS" thread i dont think he should.

having read all the clownpants thread i was not too sure but the reply's from him seem geniune and peeps do have lives and problems so i say YES give another chance.

dan.:D

I've been here six years now and have seen this sort of thing before. This time it's a bit different though as he has come back on the forum and appoligised.

Why has it happened in the first place? Personal issues? Can't be bothered? Large workload? Simply bitten off more than he can chew, but darn't admit it on here?

Personally I no longer care, six weeks is too long in my opinion, he's had chance after chance to sort this out, FACT!

My answer........ NO!

I know there are a lot of people that turn out to be no good.

But to be fair from what i can read, all outstanding parts have been delivered if a tad late. So i can't see why not - maybe on the condition of prompt delivery lol :p

i'm on the fence for this one,

I agree that everyone deserves a second chance. I didn't even know this user until i saw the clownpants thread.

anyway, i believe that people make mistakes.

looking at the thread that involves daves_zed i can see that he has sent all the parts which leads me to believe he should have his his thread open.

However,

seeing as there was no code (which i would expect to recieve) and no replies considering others got their replies this also leads me to believe that he should not have a thread opened until he proves he deserves one.

On this basis i can only go on personal feelings (which is hard as i don't even know him) however as i wouldn't like being handled this way i personally would be cheesed off.

on this basis i'm afraid i will have to say no purely to avoid this happening to myself or other members. But please note that although i am voting no, if at some point this user proves himself worthy (not sure how yet if he cannot sell) and a re-vote is summoned then i am all for reviewing the facts and possibly deciding yes

Heseemed genuine when he took my car, i now gather most people have there parts?

Give the guy a chance i say.

Must be quite daunting breaking a car for the first time, mistakes have been made through lack of communication which must be incredibly frustrating for those involved, however most have those appear to have been righted.

thanks.

I've never had any dealings with clownpants, so can't comment on his dealings. That said I always come here first for buying or selling zed parts and the thing that makes me feel safer than sites like ebay and other forums is the TRUST I feel I can place in other users. IMO, clownpants broke this trust with other members and now needs to reacquire it before being allowed to sell again. Once he has rebuilt his reputation again then yes, he should be allowed another chance. So I have to say No

I get very dissapointed when this sort of thing happens, especially in a club and by a suscribed member. It shows a total lack of integrity and commitment to what a club is all about. Information and sometimes physical support is given freely on here which generates the proper club spirit. It does not take much to dilute the enthusiastic response we now have into a pitiful wareyness that dampens peoples thoughts of support. Once bitten, twice shy.

Sorry , but i'm not going to vote either way on this and i think to ask all the members to vote without presenting evidence for and against (ie x many happy customers, y many indiferent customers, and z many p1ssed off customers) is unfair. i wouldnt expect everyone to be happy however good you are , someone will always feel they could have been happier.

{ i never thought i'd ask for less democrocy on this forum!!}

i've not bought anything from him so can't comment on his reliabilaty.

from what i can tell from a quick (20 min ) read of relevant topics 2 people are happy and one person feels let down.

also it appears he has possibly comunicated poorly and was audacious enough to take a holiday in the middle of breaking a car- as i say not enough evidence to convince me to hang him

well democrocy will answer my question then wont it.."should i let after seeing the evidence clownpants sell again"..and ironicly for someone who never waited for parts or a reason to there absence after paying money you have a firm view on this matter to which your fully entiteled of course:rolleyes:.Now with me being Traders Liason Officer i could of just said no way to his request for opening his selling thread but this is not my club its YOUR club thats why the buying members will decide;) So whenever you pay money and your still waiting weeks later with no contact from seller ime led to believe your happy with this situation then???

ps...i asked for "none hanging" posts and thats why ime going to delete off topic answers untill the poll is over

Having been reading the threads as they unfold, i feel, NO disrespect to Clownpants, that breaking a car, unless you have done or are doing is a nightmare. Im still in the process of selling bits.

However,i have sold a fair bit of stuff to members and i dont ask for any money until it ready to be posted out, and i have always updated folks who wanted bits, if its going to take a bit longer for what ever reason.

Its not right to bag the cash, then not provide the goods, without updating people at the very least

2nd chance is ok. but it would be better to sell the bits when ready to be posted out and not to fook people around.

All it does is cause a bun fight, and its not good for the club and causes us to distrust people.

i have made some cracking mates on here, and had some real laughs, but wounl'nt fook anyone around for a few quid.

Give another chance, but keep people updated and aware of any situations that may arise.

Not taking any sides.

Stu

I guess it's only fair that i pop up a little post here.

I don't want to harp on and try to protest my innocence. I'll just share my side of the story and let you decide.

As people have said it's a bit of a nightmare stripping a 300. I tried to remove any parts that were requested so that they can be shipped propmtly. ALL parts paid for were posted very quickly following payment. The majority same day or next day.

I was getting ready for a holiday in Miami so, before packing my cases i stripped all parts that were paid for. I was at it until nearly 1am - i flew out at 7.15 that morning!! All parts were packed, labelled and left in the back of my work van. I asked my mate to post them and left cash for him to do so. He didn't. I got back, some people were not too happy but they realised the circumstances and all seemed well. Then it went shit. I got sent down to work training in Newport Pagnall for a week. The parts still never got posted and i was not online to contact anyone. Those who text me got replies. When i returned, ALL remaining parcels (4 in total) were shipped.

I apologize again. I had no intentions of letting people down. Hopefully those who have met me will agree that i try to be helpful. Maybe it got a bit much for me, but i did try to keep everyone happy.

My problem now is, i have half a 300zx lying in the drive. Hopefully you guys will give me the chance to sell whats left. I will even give a next day delivery guarentee. Tracking number will be PM'd.

As for the dave_zx thing... Not entirely fair here. I advertised a head unit and sold a head unit. He asked if i could throw in a bit of loom. I said i would try but never managed. He has since asked for an amp, loom and aerial lead as he never had them. Is this my fault? I agree i could have been more helpful, but i have not broken any rules here. What was paid for was received. However, they are all stripped now, and if he want them he can have them (for cost of postage)

Cheers

Scott

Just another thing to add....

I realise it will be hard for me to regain the trust of some of you guys, so i've tried to think of a way i can.

znut, is traders liason officer. I would be happy to supply him with all my details. Mob number, home phone number, home address, work address, work phone number etc etc.

Not for it to be issued publicly, but to try and prove that i have no intentions of pulling a fast one.

Again, i will guarentee next day delivery with tracking numbers PM'd.

Is this a good idea?

Personally I think Scott should be given another chance, yes there was a f*ck up and he has tried his best to rectify this not hide away and disappear.

We all screw up now and then and mistakes/problems do happen and this should be accepted in life, it’s all about how those mistakes are dealt with and put right. It looks like Scott is trying his best and should be given the benefit of the doubt.

All n MHO of course.

I have never dealt with the man, but have followed the threads.

Errors and mistakes do happen, but responsibility rests with Clownpants and not guys from work.

That said given the fact that he has rectified the problems, I'd say a conditional yes. This would be based upon him putting a deposit into the club account of £150 refundable based on purchasers experience over the coming weeks... or am I suggesting something against club policy etc.. (It is only a suggestion)

ok guys thanks for all your remarks and votes...big respect to clownpants for coming on and explaining the score too.Well after looking at the poll ime convinced that you guys want to re-open his selling thread which ime happy to do even a day early from the poll finishing :)..I think the newbie sellers have learnt a big lesson here and that is ffs dont start selling items that arnt off the car and on the floor ready for dispatch if you have a holiday looming or have a very busy life other than zeds:D

Having spoken to Scott today via PM, I'm more than happy with what's gone on.

Although he has had problems with this whole issue, I'm sure he'll sort anyone out who wishes to buy parts from him.

I would like it known that I withdraw my NO vote on here.

Thank you to Brian for his imput, and especially to Scott for coming back here and trying to sort it out his end, well done bud and I wish you the best with selling the rest of the parts through this club.
