While doing my zed project I've managed to shear off a few bolts :mac1:

With metric being what it is I'm having real difficulty in working out the taps and dies that I need for the most common sizes on the zed. I'd like to build up a set that would cover most, if not all sizes of taps and dies used on the zed. However, the ones I need the quickest are taps for the wing bolt holes (top ones) and a tap for the hydraulic arm threads in the boot lid.

 

Can anyone point me in the right direction or let me know the details of the taps/dies I will need for the zed i.e size/pitch ect.

I am quite sure they will be m6 x 1.0mm thread pitch, and m8 x 1.5mm pitch. I work with all this stuff and amazingly I cant remember 100%. I will look tomorrow and confirm if someone else hasnt which I think they will.

Did you get a chance to confirm these mate?

Just done it there m8, deffo m6 x 1.0 mm and m8 x 1.25mm. I looked at the taps I use all the time in me toolbox. I did say in my origional post m8 x 1.5, its deffo 1.25 pitch.
