i just thought all overseas were scammers lol, copy of the email

hi my friend .i like your car very much.i want to buy it.i am from cyprus and i need some details about your car to find how much is the taxes here in cyprus.1.the car is it bought new in uk?2.the exactly price of the car.3.the date of first registration.4.where you stay?what town?

My Phone No: 99303922

Not all overseas buyers are scammers.

Usually the Greeks if they see a car which they like they will fly over to the UK and have it inspected before purchasing.

As for wanting to find out information about the car, the Cypriots have taxed quite heavily on imports in the past but they have relaxed the law lately.

If you want to give him a call on the above number you will need the code for Cyprus. 00357 followed by the mobile number above.

cheers for that mate, not getting at the cypriots, just im not too keen on over seas, would just like someone to come to the door and buy my car lol

I know what you mean, if only it was that easy.

The problem is that everyone is tight for oney and the few that do have cash spare they want things for nothing.

Converse with the guy Allan, either in your best pigeon cypriot, or email using the on-line translator if required.

I sold my 4th gen Camaro Z/28 just at the end of last year on Ebay. Guy flew over from Sweden and I picked him up at the airport. Drove home to my house, he punched in the autoroute for Hull, paid cash which he had just lifted from the Bureau-De Change at the Airport after inspecting the car and went on his merry way. He contacted me 2 days later saying the car drove all the way home faultlessly and it was a bargain. Shame about the 38 tonne trailer that reversed into it on the ferry and bust the front nose cone, but there ya go !!!

Lots of scammers about, but unless you have the cash, or a cleared cheque, the car aint going nowhere, just make that clear from the start.

Must admit tho, it would be funny to hear a Geordie and a Cypriot talk together ? :nelson:

Good luck mate,
