Steering shaft - hollow or solid?

Bit of a strange one I admit, but does anybody know if the Steering shaft from the wheel is hollow or solid? I want to fit a quick release boss.

    It's solid, why not buy one that go's between the hub and steering wheel. Ebay.com is a good place to look.

    ^^^ As paul said. You just get one that fits between boss and Wheel. Straight fitment, no need to mess about with the Steering shaft.
