hey everyone i own a 1990 jap import 300zx n/a with veilside kit and many other mods lol

Have you tried the insurance. because if you are fully comp 99% of the companys will not insure you on another car (3rd party) untill you are 24.

i think its still got the limiter on it, but havnt been fast enough to find out yet lol

think fastest my dad done in it was only about 140kph on the moterway which is like 85-90mph lol as he said the car stands out 2 much to speed in as cops wud pick it out easy lol

how do u remove the limiter by the way ?

It is an electronic limiter that limits imports to 112mph, There are a few options, most common> a (delimiter/speedo convertor) think you can get that from e bay or you could fit an aftermarket chip

the only place thatl do it 4 any age is bell insurance i rang them up and explained i want to drive a 300zx third party and a another car full comp they said i can do it but it measn say if i buy a 1 litre suzuki swift itl cost around £1200 to insure it and for extra £40 u drive any other car, but the ctach is u can only drive the other car in emergencies only, so if i ever get pulled in the 300zx by the police i gotta make up excuses all the time like my other car has broke down or summit lol

From the engine bay shot it looks like your battery is not clamped down! Probably because the battery is short and the previous owner couldn't make the clamp bolts go any lower so binned it!

Only condition is though, he only does it for subscribed members which is £20 to join, so well worth it :D

Somebody on the NW Dyno on his TT had Stock boost, Exhuast and Filter and was 2hp over stock i think so you could well be back to stock horsepower!

Where abouts in the West Midlands are you??

When are you 20? Have you got any no claims bonus? I bought my first zx (TT) in April, i was 19 then, when i rang up to insure they gave my 10 days insurance as if i was 20, because i was soon to be 20, so i was fully legally driving my zx TT when i was 19!

 

If not wouldnt it be cheap to be a named driver on a policy on the car?

Oh i seeeee, might be a bit pricey then lol, im considering getting rid of mine already, nice car and all, and its not like im tight with money running it etc, just im trying to save for some sort of mortgage, so all the money i spend on fuel and insurance is money wasted in my eyes!

 

I think insurance should be alright if youve got some no claims, but i dont know what its like to insure an N/A

yeh i guess it is alot of money to run these cars fuel wise etc, im gonna get a cheap run around 2 drive most of my miles and drive the 300zx 4 best id hate to hit a kurb and smash all thta frial bodykit lol

Mine's on around 114,000 mls and still going strong oil changes every 3,000mls

 

there are people in the us with allot more miles and still going strong

 

regular service is the key ;)

i bought my Zed when i was 19 (Twin Turbo Import) and my best insurance was with.... the post office!

1600quid it was!

Just about to pay my renewal (22 with 3years NCB) and was just under 1000! So if yours is an N/A will be far cheaper than mine and also if its UK spec even more :D

hi & welcome, i like the kit on your car ....but can you tell me are the wings smoothed into the front bumper or not ? as in some pics they are & some they are not!!!...im guessing some old pics & some new...maybe. nice looking zed smoothed or not

good question i 4 got to mention about the bumper smoothing yes ur right when we 1st had the car off ebay it wasnt smoothes, then in around august my dad caught the bumper on a kurb at tesco and broke the front bumper completly off !!!

he spent 800 pount to get it repaired hadd the whole front end re sprayed and smoothed and had the mesh put in lol

we bought the car off ebay in april 2008 for £2000 which i guess was a gd price and needed sum electrical attention spent around 500 to get that sorted so all in all the whole car cost us about 2.5k lol

Yep still got the good old spae saver in the boot lol, and not all still have the original mats , seems to be one of those things that goes missing over the years like the targa blinds & bags:(

 

keep them there a nice feature ! , but dont thing you would struggle to sell em'
