hey everyone i own a 1990 jap import 300zx n/a with veilside kit and many other mods lol

i would appriciate it if someone could tell me how i can upload pics of my zx on to here for you all to view ?

hey thanks 4 the welcome, im really confuded how to add any pics as wen i click add image it takes me to a web link but my pics are on my documents on the pc lol

i used to own the laguna which is on the first pic which is also a 3litre v6 lol but not quite as quick as the zx lol

i agree the interior really lets the car down im thinking of getting some black leather to get in there lol

engine wise as far as im aware of is only has a apexi air filter and supermegaphone exhaust system , im not sure how quick 0-60 is but the laguna is 7.5secs and the zx feels quicker maybe 6.8 secs ? lol need to get it on a dyno some time lol

There are a few thread's on here advising how to get more from the n/a engine (what mod's etc)

 

I've also got a bit of info from some us forums (very informative if you're sticking with the n/a engine and want high power.)

thanks alot chris i think il stick with the n/a for a while as i think the twin turbo wud be too much for me to handle at my age and lack of driving experience ! lol

i love to upgrade to one once ive owned this one maybe a year or 2, i guess the twin turbo is a huge improvement on power to the n/a ?

i hope to at least get the standard 222bhp as i know cars loose power over the years not sure how much just a apexi air filter and exhaust add maybe only 10bhp ?

Yep n/a around 225 from new, i've heard people have got around 214 on a dyno with just an apexi, the tt is rated at 280bhp (standard) i'm still debating what to do and i've had mine a year lol would like a tt engine one day i think , but may be easier to buy a tt further down the line

 

Agreed though the n/a is not slow by any means ! , ps: i think you may have to subscribe to view the n/a tuning threads (best £20.00 i ever spent on mine though)

 

Non-Turbo

225 bhp with 190 Ib/ft Torque

0-60 is 7 secs

Top speed is approx 150mph (with limiter removed)

With Induction kit, decat, exhaust, Headers and a chip your looking at 240-245hp

 

Twin Turbo

280-300 bhp with 280 Ib/ft Torque

0-60 is 5.5 secs

 

Top speed is approx 175 mph (with limiter removed)

With Induction kit, Exhaust, Chip, 1bar boost your looking at 350-380hp

the zx needs mot-ing yet i hope it passes as its been sitting on the drive for 6 months , but i start it up alot the past few weeks to make sure its running ok, one problem i have is the trust bearing my dad tells me, say when i put the clutch down the engine goes a lil quieter then even in neutral i bring the cluth back up it makes this weird noise and if i rev it a little the noise goes away, i dont know if this is a expensive or important job to fix ?

You had any insurance quote's yet?? , on the clutch front i'm no mechanic lol, and iv'e got an auto, but if you're concerned post another thread up detailing exact symptons etc and am sure it wont be to long before someone replies

the only way i can imsure it is with bell insurance if i buy a cheap car and insure it fully comp and drive the 300zx with third party if my dad insures the zx on his own

other wise the insurance wont touch me lol

There is a thread on the site listing allot of company's, there may be a few you missed? (i could have got a uk spec tt insured for around £400.00), but i pay £760.00 on my current j-spec n/a with express insurance who say there import specialist's

i think its still got the limiter on it, but havnt been fast enough to find out yet lol

think fastest my dad done in it was only about 140kph on the moterway which is like 85-90mph lol as he said the car stands out 2 much to speed in as cops wud pick it out easy lol

how do u remove the limiter by the way ?

Speed converter removes it ;) KPH to MPH :)
