"You do the crime, you serve the time" ;) You're lucky, that's 50% over the limit! Are you NUTS? It's 30 for a bloody good reason! Nothing is that important that you should be speeding through a 30 Zone, what happens if a kid runs into the road? Yes they shouldn't do it, yes their parents should teach them road safety, but they still do it!

Right, that's the lecture over......

To answer your question, no it shouldn't affect you insurance, unless your previous points are still valid!

Bend over and take it up the arse like a man! You broke the limit and got caught. Shit happens. But, 3 points won't have much effect on your premium. You'll find that about 1 in 4 people in the UK have some form of endorsement on their licence. :)

You'll have an SP30. I had an SP30 and a TS10 on my licence when I bought my Z and it didn't load the premium by any noticeable amount.

Got 3 points about 6 years ago, my renewal jumped £80 for the 3 points, SP30, was doing 42 in a 30 in works van, was told by friends etc it shouldnt affect my ins but it did. Prob depends on ins company.

Just my experience with 3 points, licence now clear.

Cheers John

Oooooo don't get me wrong, I travel 20 miles to work every day, on that route I travel along winding country lanes, main A roads, through two villages and into another town center. Oh yeah I might be noticed above the speed limit, while out in the country, on open stretches of A road, where it's safe, but not in town, or the two villages I pass through.

I'll speed where I calculate it's safe to do so (I'm not perfect, nobody is) and saying all that, I've also got an SP30 (well it's just expired actually) ;) bad judgement and didn't see the 30zone sign :D

ts10 jumping the lights?

Yup. Believe it or not, it wasn't intentional. Was a momentary lapse in concentration and looking at the lights ahead of the junction that was crossing. Overshot thinking they were green, but didn't cross the box. I even reversed as there was nothing about. BUT, the camera got me as my rear wheels had gone just over the line. This is going back about 6 or 7 years ago now though.

thats a bit shit expically to have point for it also

It was a bit. I am sure if a police officer had seen me I may have gotten away with a telling off, a fine or a producer. I realised I was doing the wrong thing and tried to correct it. Unfortunately, in situations like that, there's only a yes and no answer as the camera is the prosecution, jury and judge and there's nothing else that can be done about it.

I didn't contest it (although asked for the photographic evidence as I didn't think my rear wheels had gone over the line). I made the error, so took the penalty (if it did seem a little harsh considering the surrounding details).

lol ;)

Yup, i got an SP30 a few years ago. Didn't affect my insurance at all with Bell, in fact, i think my premium still went down.

£325.... really really stop complaining lol!! :) - due to the ambulance chasing generation, my generation happily pay over a grand for 3rd party, my first car 993cc fiesta cost £2300 quid to insure 3rd part..... im 23 now never had a crash yet i still have to lube up before i ring for a quote.... rant/ lol!

Havent a scooby doo if this is true, probably not as it sounds too easy ?

As sent to me;

Pay your fine, but, NO POINTS DEDUCTED, !!

Read on :-

This is how the points get added to your licence:

If you get a fixed penalty notice through the post which also carries penalty points the computer system first sends you a demand for the cash.

When you ha ve paid, it then sends a demand to return your licence for endorsement.

It cannot handle the licence endorsement and the payment at the same time, and it cannot process the points pa rt of the system until the financial section is complete.

If you overpay the fixed penalty, it must issue and send a refund cheque for the overpayment.

Therefore, overpay the fixed penalty by sending a cheque for the full amount plus £1.

The computer will then automatically generate a refund cheque for the over-payment and send it to you.

**** Do not cash this refund cheque - DUMP IT.

The system then remains 'open' and cannot generate the 'send your licence for endorsement' demand part of the20program.

It does, however, record your payment of the fixed penalty, so it does not trigger the 'follow-up unpaid fine' stage.

As there is no human intervention, the system will leave you alone, since it has got your money, which is the primary objective!
