I believe they do make a big difference, specially if you overhall your standard callipers and put some decent fluid in while your at it. The only thing with them kits is that the pads dont make contact with all the disk. So your not making use of the extra braking surface, but yeah, with bigger disks the will handle the heat better and should have slightly more power. A master cylinder brace will help to, aswell as braided hoses. And obviously a decent set of pads. So quiet a bit to do with the standard callipers and a big disk conversion.

hope this helps, im no expert, this is just what ive gathered over time.

take it nobody is online then.....

Calm down. You only posted the question 5 hours ago!

I dont know about that brake kit, the caliper brackets look quite flimsy.

If budget isnt a problem, look into one of the big brake kits that Dan @ DTA supplies.

I fitted the kit to mine last summer and what a difference it made!

The problem your experiencing is most likely down to poor brake component condition. Caliper pistons seized and old brake fluid are quite common and make a dramatic affect on braking performance.

If you do go down the larger brake disc option then I would go for a 324mm disc upgrade version instead as you will have more Disc options (Skyline GTR size). DTA, Z1 and CZP all sell them.

The company selling the kit have built up quite a good reputation for selling brake kits, so that's a plus point.

Price wise is okay too. As stated and they ain't the first to be guilty of this, friggin crap not up to the job looking brake brackets. Now i ain't saying they don't do the job, cos obviously they do, they just look like they are better suited to a kids BMX. Seen others just as bad though.

If cash is a problem, i could suggest Danny's bracket kit and you source your own GTR sized discs. When and if you ever come across a set nice GTR Brembo calipers one day, hey presto you will already have the discs, wap the new calipers on and sell your old brackets, job done

As said though mate, decent working calipers and fresh fluid can make some difference.
