I replaced the fuel pressure regulator and dampner over the weekend, and now it wont start :( getting a spark ok , bit no fuel by the looks of things, i've checked and rechecked and all pipes are in the right place, so guessing there must be some sort of airlock or blockage?

I took the hose of after the filter and fuel sprayed out, so it's getting through the filter, then took the return hose off beside the fuel filter and only a tiny little dribble came out.

How do I bleed the fuel system? or could it be something else?

Cheers

David

no you never have to bleed a fuel system, only diesels do that, once its connected the fuel pump will prime when the ign is on and thats it done, so should fire up.

why did you replace the regulator? and whats the dampner thing???

did it run before you fitted them, if so theres your problem, are the parts exact swap for swap? , or aftermarket parts?

hmmmm, it ran before i replaced them but one of them was leaking petrol, so figured i'd replace them both, they're brand new, oem parts

as far as i can see everything is where it sould be, the only pipes changed are the hose kit from smithy, but i did that over a year ago

Stupid question, but have you made sure the fuel pipes are going to the right things, ie regualtor and dampner, also if one of the small black vac pipes isnt fitted it wont suck properly.

I would almost bet that your FPR wasnt even leaking either - it would just have been the hose connection on to to the fuel rail going down from it. Makes it look like its leaking.

Either change back and try that or as said make sure you havent switched ins for outs etc.

Good stuff mate.

Wrong way round = it will blow not suck

Right way round = it will suck and not blow
