is it wrong? a mate of mine bought one as a RUN AROUND looks like a gtr, sound like a gtr moves like a vectra.

cheap to insure, road tax is pretty cheap, he says it does 30-35 mpg more than his weekend car. is it wrong as a runaround, im slowly being temted to getting one myself.

Which model is it, they've been doing Skylines for years??

If it's the one I'm thinking of it looks nothing like a GT-R

R33, its got the r33 bodykit.

Thats good cos that's the one that would fit

I do like the R33 but I don't really see the point unless it's a real GT-R, I'd rather have a sensible runabout like a diesel, hatchback, estate if I've got a Z.

That way you've got something practical too and would still be cheaper than running and insuring a Skyline.

I took an R33 as a part-ex, but it was a 2.5 turbo, as a runaround they look ok and have the skyline appeal to everyone else, but like you say are slow... I'd have one again over a vectra with the same engine but people expect them to fly not crawl lol.

they are slow and handle crap in standard form but they come alive when you do a few mods my mate has a 400bhp r33gtst and its really fast it pulls away from my scooby but only after 60

Nissan make various version of the Skyline, apparanrtly a lot of the versions are used as Taxi's in Japan.

Think of the Skyline as an Escort. The GTR is the RS Cosworth, the GTST is the RS Turbo/RS2000 , and the other versions are your regular everyday escorts.

Has anyone ever seen the non GT-R versions of the R34? Has to be one of the ugliest coupes I think I've ever seen. They don't have the cool bulging arches that the GT-R has and thus look pretty miserable. The GT-T looks terrible!

As for the 2.0 thing, yeah, they were available on most Skylines and the R32 even had a 1.8 on offer! The 2.0 engine in the R34 is a small inline 6 engine.

BTW, I always thought the R31....
