Did Nissan change the front lights and have a 99 spec front lights? This may be a totally stupid question, but am I right in thinking there were subtle changes to the older versions lights?

If I'm not mad, can anybody tell me the difference between the different specs and a pic would be good, so that I can check mine.

Thanks

genuine 99 spec will cost you around 2K :wack:

Thanks CarMad. I don't want to get too excited but it looks like I have genuine 99spec ones on mine. If I take a pic, will you have a look and let me know. The lights are not out, so hopefully you will be able to make it out through the lens. What is the difference between the old spec and the 99 spec?

Cheers

Here you go bud.....

The Standard (that's ALL up to 1999) have just plain inserts inside the lens, whereas the 1999 spec versions have the extra scuplturing on the insert (as in the sections that are in front of the lights in the picture)

Thanks Dave. I'll run out and check now, but I still think I may be lucky to have them. Fingers crossed. I'll report back in two minutes.

If it's the ones in your rides section, then I'm sorry to say but you haven't!

You are right, they are not 99 spec front lights

and there I was getting excited over nothing. Anyhow I still love it, 99 spec front lights or not.

Get yourself a HID upgrade kit if you're lights are crap.

One of the best things I've bought for mine :)

The lights aren't the worst to be fair, but there are so many things I want to do with the car..:

  • respray to remove the viper strips
  • new wheels and tyres with the correct offset for the "perfect" stance
  • Sound proofing
  • Installation of a carputer with quality ICE (I have a really good sound system)
  • Custome HKS Hi-power silent exhaust (twice) want two back boxes
  • 99 spec rear lights
  • and that is only the start

The only problem to getting it done, is LACK OF CASH

Everybodys problem I think

new wheels and tyres with the correct offset for the "perfect" stance

Looks like funky has set a new trend :D
