My zed hasn't been run for a couple of months as I'm doing a lot of work on it. Went to start it today and nothing happened  All the electrics work, battery is fully charged but when I turn the key it does nothing, not even a click :headvswal

The car had an alarm fitted but the previous owner had disabled it. While doing the interior I removed the (and chucked!) the alarm control box as I didn't think it was doing anything. All that I left was the wiring that is going to the ignition switch.

Could this be my problem? Could I have inadvertently disabled the ignition?

Help!!

haven't left it in park have you? may sound stupid but it's caught me out a few times :headvswal

The immobilser/fuel cut wires need the box the make the circuit.

I would agree with this, when removing the remaining parts of the alarm you may no longer have the complete circuit.

This is what I was thinking, any idea how I fix it, or is it time to get an auto sparky on it?

You mean drive? It will start in park or neutral.

By taking out the alarm you will have broken the immobiliser

Auto electrician or new alarm time!

Will you even get insurance without a Cat1 alarm and immobiliser??

Was always my intention to get a toad alarm fitted, looks like I'll have to move that job up the list! lol

do you have the make/model of the alarm you ripped off ? and can you get a picture of the wire side of the plugs as well & put them up, preferably a close up.

I've done better than that mate! I've found the alarms manual  Looks like there are two green wires that are used to bypass part of the ignition switch. All I need to do is connect the green wires together and, hopefully my car will start :x:

Will try it tomorrow and report back.

Thanks for all help folks :duffer:
