with me possibly losing out on the car i wanted-it looks like my other option is to get one imported, prob is they are very expensive ATM, so ive been thinking and chatting to the wench and she has her eye on my uncles xtrail and i have been possibly offered a 52 plate m3 bmw for 5k, i was thinking of getting the m3 for a while and hopefully if the pound picks up trade the bmw in and go for a nice slicktop zed (if any is available) and get the wench the xtrail, im going to be lookin at borrowing the 5k for the m3 and selling mine for the price of the xtrail

 

i dont know what to do, i dont want to oay over the odds for a slicktop, but i do want a zed, but the bmw is a bargain (even though it wil be a catd writeoff) and the xtrail is only £3500 (to me anyway) and that means i could drop the price dramatically on my zed for a quick sale (would prob take 4k for it)

why dont you keep your zed until the market becomes less expensive and trade in your zed for a slicktop then?

Buy the M3, sell your zed for £3.5k (think you will struggle with more) and the M3 for £7k will give you £10.5k to play with.

The M3 is a good deal. Xtrail for the misses yep nice car. Not a good time to be borrowing cash though so it depends on what deal you get on the 5k.

 

If you buy the M3 you still need to spend some money on it so are you likely to make a profit? If not and you dont really want it then dont buy it.

 

Borrow the cash and get the misses the xtrail you will be borrowing less so will cost you less.

 

Your Z is a very nice example with a wide arch conversion its going to sell but it will take a while. When I first bought mine I saw yours and wished I could find one like it then. The markets crap at the moment and people are stealing cars from their owners, but only because they have to sell.

 

If you dont have to sell then I would stick with the Zed and wait till someonme gives you a good price for it. There will always be another slicktop for sale, they are rare but since buying my zed I have seen a good few available for sale.
