You need to remove your old tweed. Get yourself a tin of Evo stick instant contact adhesive...solvent version. (not the non-solvent version, thats crap).

and some superglue also comes in handy for holding the ends down while the rest glues.

Takes a fair bit of time and patience...and its very hard to get it 100%. I've done a couple of Interiors now, including redoing several times....and I could never get it as good as the professionals, so with my Slicktop I paid to have it done instead and very glad I did.

Dam, sorry about that bud, i know i seen another guide for that somewhere!

Thanks for the link and item number :D

EVO STICK?!?! Thats a bit over the top isnt it?! Im a carpet fitter by trade and usualy spray adhesive is adequate for most things, although having said that, youd probably be better off with something a bit stickier for vinyl or leatherete as its a much more smooth surface

The spray adhesive tends to bubble and unstick itself with the heat that a car interior gets to in the summer months, plus it takes a fair bit of force to stretch the material around the curves and hold it there.

Yeh it would more with vynal/leatherete, i havnt used evo stick, but my step dad/boss tells me its some real stick sh*t?

Its my birthday in 3 weeks, might have to have one of these as a prezzie :D so let me know how you get on

iv got 2 tins of carpet spray anyway - if it works it works if not then it cant look worse than tweed!!! lol!!

Lol dont diss the tweed! I told my cousin my doorcards were tweed today, he actually didnt believe me!

The thing is with spray adhesive ive learnt of the years is not to pile it on, but dont use too little, it needs to be spred evenly, if its really shiney, theres too much and takes too long to go off.
