Hi Guys

 

I was looking at some web sites looking for a 300ZX TT ...

I found a company (mentioning no names)that had a low milage car in stock

it looked very clean had a manual box leather trim and so on asking about £4000 for it when i called the guy said i'd be better off with a R32 Skyline GTR because the handling on the 300 is crap????

 

Has anyone had a chance to compare the to cars together as im starting to get a bit confused on which one to go for:headvswal

Did the guy happen to have an r32 in stock with a higher profit margin lol :rolleyes:

 

Can't say i've had any experience with r32's, however i can tell you that a zed does'nt handle crap. Most of the time they may not seems very good because most still have the original springs and shocks, and after 20 years on the car, they wont be that fresh. A set of aftermarket springs and shockers with a few other handling mods and they're a different car!!!

I owned an R32 GTR and a 300zx twin turbo last year...

 

The GTR went better but was a higher BHP, but when it come to handling I MUCH preferred the Z (it had Tein Super Street coilovers on). It stuck to the road like glue and I've never had a car that feels so stable.

 

The GTR has the added benefit of 4wd when the rear wheels lose grip as it sends power to the front wheels (normally runs RWD) but I still felt more confident in the Z cornering at higher speeds.

 

Don't expect to chuck a standard Z into a corner at a million miles an hour and come out the other side but with a decent suspension/tyre combo it could easily be up there with the best (taking into consideration weight and size)

Zed is far better looking for a start! go for the Zed!!!

The R32 may handle slightly better but tbh the street presence of the zed will aways win people over. The interior is sooo much nicer too

ive thought about lots of cars to replace the zed with, but n the end the only car i can think of is another zed, a highly tuned one at that, its the only reason i am selling the zed

not much of a sales man putting you of one of his cars

Go for a slicktop, they handle very very sharp.

 

Can be skitish on when you hit boost but its all fun :)

As one of you said the 300 has a lot more presence and in my opinion it dosen't look dated with the right kit on it unlike the R32

And just refresh the suspension set up with some new kit and i should be on to a winner!!!!

Once again guys thanks for the info and once i've sorted it all out i will put some pics on the forum so you can all see what ive been up to........

still say buy mine lol, it has the kit and had the suspension renewed with teins, also as a wider track with the wide arch kit so handles better
