tps is faulty, giving a reading of 0.24, instead of 0.44, is it just a case of adjusting it or do i need a new 1?

i'm not sure if it's conected but when i put my foot down it splutters and feels like it cuts out, like a fuel cut or somthing? as if i turned the engine off, but come back on it's own after 2-3 seconds.......but only when i put foot down, its ok under normal driving.....

PTU - Power Transistor Unit. Basically it is an ignition unit :)

You can buy a series 2 version spanking new for about £130 - NEVER heard of one of those failing! I even changed mine just for the sake of ruling that out as a problem later on down the line if anything was wrong with my zed.

sorry, it's all alittle much for me to take in, can someone please put in lamans terms please?

new to the 300zx scene

or is anybody local to hastings that could let me try theres on my car to eliminate problems?

basically its the little silver and black box that screws onto the black plastic cover at the front of the engine, remove the screws, unplug and plug in a new one, S2 (series2) versions and slightly diffrent (and more £££) but are meant to be more reliable and just as easy to swap over.

there is one on ebay at the moment, although im no expert and it may not fix the issue, it sorted out my problem that sounds similar.

got a multi meter today, and it's confusing what setting i need to have it on lol, any help?

gonna try and adjust the tps and see if that helps,

update,

adjusted tps and is now reading 0.43 so is close as i can get to the 0.44 that i was told it should read.

stopped at kwik fit while i was out 2day(a guy that works there used to own a Z) to ask him bout it, he noticed a few of things i had missed:

1, a hose to the intercooler hose has split(right by the left throtle body)

2, a little hose wasn't connected on the left throttle body(washer hose size)

3, the balance bar on the right hand side is leaking, needs new O rings, gonna see about ordering some new 1s tomorrow, anybody got a code for them? would be helpfull

would those be likly to cause the problem??
