My first ever attempt to polish a piece of metal, it was just a trial and will never go on the car but now i understand the process :)

Wish id spent more time on it now though

Ignore the imperfections and look at that shine :hyper:

Good job buddy :D Tbh the water pipes are really naff quality casting so you'll never get a good finish on them, i would bet if you did exactly the same thing to anything else it would look like a mirror

Sorry Bud but on a score of 1 to 10 that is SHITE

At least he tried

Nice one Pete :D

i dont have anything else :(

Sorry mate, not having a go at you but I had mine polished by a professional polisher and he said the quality of metal isn't very good to polish so it's a compliment i think you'd done briliantly to get it to look like that! :D

Looks feckin miles better than before Pete! :)

They do look very dingey on the whole - i know mine do anyway lol.

Good work my man

I tend to go 120, 400, 800, 1200 then compound but always meant to get myself a decent bench polisher, it makes all the difference for the final bit. They're not much, about 40-50 quid for a decentish one

Would'nt a bit of 1500 and 2000 cut right down on the amount of polishing with compound needed?

When i'm doing any rubbing down i always dust it over with 1500 and 2000 to make it that bit easier :)

Looks ok mate, keep working at it with finer grades of wet and dry, and you will get it looking superb.

No offence intended Young Fella, you were wanting an opinion so you got mine LOL. Yer know what I'm like when it comes to the shiny stuff. An 850 watt polisher ,grinder from Machinemart is not to dear and is what I use.Dont go for a lower power one as you end up stopping the wheel with to much pressure.
